Purified Lightbringer is the Unique for the Pulverize Skill, dragging in enemies and boosting Pulverize damage. The build functions without it and needs no specific Legendary Aspects to get started.

Skill Bar and Skill Tree Points
Petrify is triggered with the
Yom rune, and does not need to be on the Skill Bar.
Earthen Bulwark is triggered with the
Que rune, and is not required on the Skill Bar.
In early gearing before getting your
Yom and
Ring of Starless Skies, use a Spirit Builder Basic attack like
Claw – Spirit – Cast Speed –
Dash. Replaces
Hurricane.

Druid Class Mechanic – Spirit Boons
Use these Spirit Boons for the Pulverize Druid.

Obsidian Slam is largely interchangeable with Avian Wrath, and can grant extra Resolve. However, being capped on Resolve means you cannot refresh the damage buff.

Legendary Aspects
Gear Slots with multiple options are listed in recommended priority. Any slot with a Mythic Unique will include a valid alternative to use while still leveling and gearing. Combine these with the right stat priorities.

Tempers can be rerolled until they Greater Affix.
Maximum Resolve Stacks can Greater Affix and then be Masterworked to heavily influence your
Might of the Ursine damage.
Remember to fully Socket, Temper, Enchant, Aspect, and Masterwork (STEAM) your item before Transfiguring it in the Horadric Cube!

Uniques and Mythic Uniques
The following Unique items are recommended for the Pulverize Druid.
Purified Lightbringer is a simple Unique, dragging along enemies and increasing Pulverize damage. You can see the Distant marker as a small ground halo beyond the Pulverize cast. Drops from The Butcher.
Gathlen’s Birthright – This is a strong item for Damage Reduction and a powerful grouping tool, thanks to the
Reversal variation of
Cyclone Armor. Drops from Lord Zir.
Might of the Ursine gives a damage multiplier for every stack of Resolve. You can get extra resolve stacks from
Petrify and from Defensive Tempers. Drops from The Harbinger.
Mythic Unique Items
Ring of Starless Skies is a powerful Resource Cost Reduction tool and damage multiplier with strong Gear Affixes. Pulverize is a Spirit Hungry skill, and this can be what is needed to make gameplay smooth without a Basic Spirit Builder.

Gems and Runewords

Runewords use a conditional Rune of Ritual to generate Offering. The Offering is consumed by the Rune of Invocation to trigger its effect. Runes replace Gems in gear with two sockets. Up to two sets of Runeword Pairs can be placed at a time.
Using
Que allows us to benefit from our Skill Point investments into
Earthen Bulwark without needing it on the Skill Bar.
Using
Yom guarantees high uptime on our invested Critical Strike Damage debuff from Skill Ranks of
Petrify, grants high Spirit regeneration, and provides Stuns and Stagger on Bosses, without needing it on the Skill Bar. The Song of the Old Mountain Talisman Set will also benefit from the frequent casts.
Other combinations also work; adjust to the content you are running.

Paragon Board
The following are the preferred Glyphs, Boards, and pathing to make the most of the Pulverize Druid.
The road to max Paragon level is long. The above Paragon tabs show the following:
- The first tab shows a setup around Paragon 200. This pathing is stricter to grab all Legendary nodes, essential rare nodes, and to fill in glyph areas.
- The second tab is the paragon tree in its final form.
At level 15, the glyph grows in radius and gains a special effect. At level 46, the glyph grows to its max radius and gains a strong conditional damage multiplier.
In general, for Toughness priority, take Max Life > Armor > Resistance nodes.
For more offense, swap out
Werebear for
Headhunter.
Total Boards placed are now limited to a max of 5; the Starter Board and four Class Boards. Rotate boards as necessary.
Season Mechanics
In Season of Death Awakening, a death cult is after us! Defeat Ruptures, Realmwalkers, Risen, and Reapers for seasonal reputation and rewards. In the endgame, Uniques can now be Mythic quality, boosting their unique effect and maxing their gear affixes.
Seasonal content and reputation will be the best sources for these new Mythic Uniques. They can also be crafted at the Jeweler or randomly upgraded through the Horadric Cube. You can equip as many Mythic Uniques as you want that were acquired from drops or caches, but you can only have one crafted Mythic Unique equipped at a time. A priority Mythic Unique to craft for the Pulverize Druid would be
Purified Lightbringer.
Talisman
Lord of Hatred introduces Talisman sets. The Talisman is a Seal and the Charms placed within. Charms have general affixes from a limited pool and can have Set bonuses, which grant significant power.
The ideal setup for an Ancestral Seal for the Pulverize Druid is the following:
- Seal Bonus +1 Charm Slot for 6 total Charm slots. This allows for a full 5-set and Unique Charm.
- 5/5 Song of the Old Mountain Talisman Set
- Unique Charm for
Fractured Runestone.
The ideal setup for a Mythic Seal is the following:
Seal of the Diamond Mind to reduce the number of charms needed to complete a set bonus by 1. - 4 pieces of the Old Mountain Talisman Set, completing the 5-set bonus.
- 2 pieces of the Might of the Den Mother Talisman Set, completing the 3-set bonus.
Ideal affixes for the Seal, Seal Bonuses, and Charms include the following in order of priority:
- Ranks to Shapeshifting, Core, Werebear, Earth, or Nature Magic Skills. Nature Magic Skills Ranks will also boost Petrify, Earthen Bulwark, and Cyclone Armor.
- All Stats. Having one or two Charms or Transfigurations with All Stats will help complete your Paragon secondary node bonuses.
- Critical Strike Chance or Critical Strike Damage.
The Song of the Old Mountain Set fossilizes enemies, gradually turning them Petrified. After the Petrify runs out, or they would have taken more damage than they have health, they burst into a shower of rocks that splash close enemies. This set is powerful, granting high Petrify uptime and dealing massive damage to clustered packs of enemies. Enemies will be frequently gathered thanks to
Purified Lightbringer and Cyclone Armor
Reversal.
Mercenaries
Main Mercenary – Raheir, the Shieldbearer
Mercenaries are followers who aid the Player. A main mercenary is chosen to fight alongside you, granting strong buffs or perks, and a secondary Mercenary is chosen to periodically Reinforce you.

Pulverize
Raheir will grant a notable increase to Armor and a small damage bonus, taunting enemies occasionally. Field of Languish reduces damage taken. Other mercenary options are valid, such as using Subo for the minimap tracking.
Build Mechanics
Rotation and Playstyle
The Pulverize Druid is straightforward gameplay with minor buff maintenance.
- Maintain
Debilitating Roar for Maximum Life and other Bonuses. - Maintain
Hurricane to apply Vulnerable and Weaken to enemies.
Cyclone Armor with
Reversal Variation to group your enemies into your Earth Talisman and Pulverize splashes.
Pulverize your enemies. Drag them along with your Purified Lightbringer and keep smashing.
Earthen Bulwark and
Petrify will cast frequently from Rune triggers, granting their benefits.
Wolves and
Ravens are there for their supporting buffs, and for
Nagu, and generally are not actively used.
Skills, Support, and Synergies
Pulverize is our primary, high-damage Skill. With Purified Lightbringer, Distant enemies are dragged in to get smashed.
We default to using the Shockwave Variation of the skill for the beneficial Earth Tag. This opens up options like
Earthen Devastation, a strong paragon board, and to use the Song of the Old Mountain talisman set, which performs better than the Werebear Set. As well, any Ranks to Nature Magic or Earth Skills on gear or charms will now benefit Pulverize.
When Pulverize consumes Overpower, it deals bonus damage and has an increased radius.
Supporting Skills
Ravens and
Wolves are useful as a trigger for
Nagu.
Wolves will also give a massive 40% attack speed boost after Critically Striking, and will help tank for you.
Cyclone Armor is a large category for All Resistance, damage reduction, and will be frequently automatically cast thanks to
Gathlen’s Birthright. With the
Reversal variation, this means enemies will be grouped constantly for your Earth Talisman and Pulverize hits.
Earthen Bulwark will provide Barrier, Resolve, Fortify, and Overpower stacks for your Pulverize to consume. This is triggered with the
Que rune, and does not need to be on the Skill Bar. Barrier is capped at 100% of your Maximum Life. Depending on Skill Rank and affixes like Barrier Generation, you may be able to deselect Ranks and put them into other Skills like
Cyclone Armor.
Hurricane is a handy Storm Skill to trigger our Overcharged Aspect for Vulnerable, and applies Weaken on struck enemies as well. It is maintained as a Core Skill, slowly draining Spirit while active. If this is ever too much Spirit drain while still gearing, try out another skill or use a different Variation in the meantime.
Cyclone Armor, Companion Skills,
Earthen Bulwark and
Hurricane are all Versatile Skills, and will maintain your previous Form when Cast.
Debilitating Roar grants Maximum Life to you and your Allies, and applies a damage taken debuff onto enemies. Depending on bonus Skill Ranks from gear or charms, you may be able to deselect Skill Ranks and place them elsewhere. Just keep the cooldown lower than the duration!
Petrify provides Spirit, Resolve for our Might of the Ursine, Stuns enemies, Staggers bosses, and applies a scalable Critical Strike Damage Taken debuff.
We choose not to take the Calamity Spirit Boon, extra duration side upgrade and
Greater Petrify variation on Petrify because of the Song of the Old Mountain talisman set – we want the
Petrify debuff to run out so the absorbed explosions can happen.
There may be a situation where
Grizzly Rage –
Cornered Beast is the better Ultimate, but I found that our reduced sources of Lucky Hit and having to invest in related Spirit Boons were too costly. Petrify also plays well with our Spirit issues and the Earth Talisman Set. If you choose to try this, use
Flickerstep on boots.
When choosing the Form option for Petrify, Human Form provides an extra 5% Critical Strike Damage Taken. However, if you have extra ranks in Werebear or Shapeshifting Skills from Charms or gear affixes, Werebear form may provide better Critical Strike Damage depending on your setup.
Yom triggers of
Petrify will not change your current Form.

Spirit Management
Maintaining Spirit is essential to keep smashing out your
Pulverizes. Spirit is managed from a variety of sources.
- Gift of the Stag Spirit Boon provides 5 Spirit Regeneration.
- The Wolf’s Spirit Boon Energize is a Lucky Hit to restore 15 Spirit.
- Casts and Rune Triggers of
Petrify restore Spirit. - Any Spirit Generation on Armor, including Tempers.
- Resource Cost Reduction on gear, including
Ring of Starless Skies.
This is generally sufficient in the Endgame to maintain Spirit. However, if these are insufficient sources while leveling and gearing, consider using one or more of the following options.
- Gear for extra Spirit Generation on Gear.
- Use
Balanced Aspect for large Spirit Generation on cooldown cast. - Skill out of
Hurricane if you cannot maintain the Spirit Cost. - Use a Basic Spirit builder like
Claw –
Dashto build Spirit. Replaces
Hurricane.
Variant Play
Other options are available to us when playing the Pulverize Druid.
Grizzly Rage
Petrify is our Ultimate for ease of play, significant Spirit generation and being able to use
Yom to benefit from Petrify and slot in another useful Skill.
Grizzly Rage has potential for more top-end output in highest push, but only when very well geared and if Spirit is managed without the frequent casts of Petrify. The Cornered Beast variation is available to us since Pulverize is a natural Werebear Skill, quickly stacking to a large multiplier each cast. If you would like to try this Ultimate:
- Remove points from Petrify, placing them into Grizzly Rage, Cooldown, Werebear Form, Cornered Beast.
- Use Calamity and Calm Before the Storm Spirit Boons.
- Move
Aspect of the Ursine Horror to Pants, and use
Flickerstep for Ultimate cooldown reduction when Evading through enemies. - Gear Spirit Generation on a few Armor pieces.
- Temper Cooldown Reduction on Rings.
- It may be useful to put
Tibault’s Will as a charm, moving
Might of the Ursine to ring slot, replacing
Conceited Aspect.
Other Earth Skills
This build can be modular for other Earth or Bear setups. Feel free to use it as a template if you want to try out Earth Spike, Stone Burst, Landslide, as most of the parts would be similar. Just trade out the appropriate Skill and Unique item. For variations, I recommend the following:
Seismic Shift for Earth Spike – with
Will of Stone and
Shard of Verathiel.
Land Mine for Landslide – with
Earthbreaker.
Epicenter or
Rumbling Stones for Stone Burst – with
Stone of Vehemen.
Season Updates
Not much changes for the Pulverize druid other than the bug fixes, limiting our variation options, largely locking us to
Shockwave. The buffed
Gathlen’s Birthright is the replacement for the nerfed
Heir of Perdition for basically all builds now. In general, the changes to Iconic Mythic gear affixes mean we have to invest more into Critical Strike Chance on our gearing and masterworks. Resolve is nerfed a bit, but we still invest in it for
Might of the Ursine.

The following are relevant changes directly affecting the Pulverize Druid. For general Season 14 information, check out our Season 14 Hub.
Skills and Stats:
- Scythe Talon Spirit Boon – Critical Strike chance increased from 5% to 10%.
Survival Instincts - Previous: While in Werebear form, you deal 30% increased damage or 45% when you are at full Life. You have 1% increased Overpower damage, up to 25%, for every 1% difference in current Life percent and Fortified Life percent between you and the enemy.
- Now: While in Werebear form you deal 45% increased damage, as well as an additional 1% increased damage, up to 25%, for every 1% difference in current Life percent and Fortified Life percent between you and the enemy.
Constricting Tendrils – Damage increased from 40% to 60%.
Spirit – Damage reduced from 15% to 12%.
Fang and Claw – Damage increased from 12% to 15%.
Itemization:
- Might of the Den Mother Talisman Set – 2-Piece Set Bonus damage increased from 2% to 3%.
Aspect of Glynn’s Anvil – Damage reduction is now capped to 40%.
Gathlen’s Birthright – now additionally grants 20-30% Damage Reduction.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where Ursine Horror granted the Earth tag to Pulverize.
- Fixed an issue where Pulverize with the Shockwave Variant did not grant Stoicism stacks as intended.
- Fixed an issue where the Resolve Temper was scaling with item types and much more than intended with Masterworking ranks.

Weapon Damage
